COUNCIL BLUFFS — A construction project on
Mike McKee, program manager with the Pottawattamie County Engineer’s Office, said Peterson Contractors Inc. bid to construct a 156-inch culvert, install a 72-inch highway guardrail post and install 300 feet of guardrail beam on
Work began on the project on April 12. The company has 45 working days to finish the project, and Friday was day 41.
McKee said the 72-inch highway guardrail post and guardrail beam have been installed by pile drivers, but the company has had trouble with the 156-inch structural highway guardrail posts.
The highway guardrail post was damaged after installed by pile drivers and a new one had to be ordered at the end of May. This week the company worked to install the new highway guardrail post.
The Engineer’s Office said it is still unclear when the project will be finished.
